Sure, it’s based on the existing Aventador and all, sure we were waiting for the Aventador roadster… but the final result is simply STUNNING. This isn’t the first time Lamborghini pulls something like that. Back in 2005 with the Concept S based on the Gallardo, but now it’s rougher, sharper. Based on the Aventador! Same V12 engine as the original Aventador, cooking up to 700 horse power. I personnally think the final design is just exquisite. It’s raw brutality, sharpness at will. You could think this is a new swiss knife or something (and the place helps to think that). But no, it’s just yet another incredible raging bull to roam the world. But it’s unique, sadly. Apparently already sold for 2,2 million €. The Agera R features a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing an impressive 1100bhp and 885lb ft of torque when fuelled on E85 biofuel — this drops to 972bhp and 811lb ft of torque using regular petrol. Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the R should hit 60mph in around three seconds and on to a top speed of 250mph. Other highlights include Vortex Generating Rim (VGR) wheels, which maximise the Agera’s downforce thanks to its turbine inspired spokes, and tyres rated to 260mph – the highest-speed-rated tyres in the world, according to Koenigsegg.
