Spa Six Hours 2007 Aston Fights Healey

Two laps after the start we fight the Aston Martin DB4 (no14) Driven by M. Taylor, M. Vergers or P. Bennett. I’m curious who started the race in the Aston. I could not hold him in the end. My tyres got too hot and he got faster. Car: Austin Healey Racer 1961 Driver: Jaap Sinke Healey Qualified 29th 3:05.582 Aston Qualified 24th 3:02.625

  2. The Healey kept to a good racing line & it paid off…i wish the change down to 2nd gear in my BT7 was as good …

    Ah yes…drum brakes, wire wheels and lever shocks??
    And you are blaming the tires…..unless you 1950 new old stock tires…..The current crop of plain street tires are heads and shoulders above top-of-the-line race tires of that era.

  6. Later we suffered electrical problems. So not at Les Combes in the same lap but some laps later at Pouhon.

    man I really want to race cars!!!!! To bad my brother totaled my built 5.0 mustang :( I put so much into that thing. O well.

  11. Being a Healey owner myself I need not say who I was rooting for lol… I like the takeover you can see the Aston in the Healey rear-view mirror…

  14. The Aston is been driven by either Phil Bennett, or micheal Vergers, both professional drivers.

    Got to love those old dunlop L section tyres, cars move around all overr the place.
